Description
Imoxy DL Capsule is used for Bacterial infections of lungs, Bacterial infections, Bacterial infections of ear, Bacterial infections of throat, The treatment of beta-hemolytic streptococcal infections, The treatment of pneumococcal infections and other conditions.
Imoxy DL Capsule contains Amoxycillin, Dicloxacillin, and Lactic Acid Bacillus as active ingredients.
Imoxy DL Capsule works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell wall; inhibiting the production of bacterial cell wall; killing the harmful bacteria and increasing the immune system function;
Uses
Imoxy DL Capsule is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
• Bacterial infections of lungs
• Bacterial infections
• Bacterial infections of ear
• Bacterial infections of throat
• The treatment of beta-hemolytic streptococcal infections
• The treatment of pneumococcal infections
• The treatment of staphylococcal infections
• Diarrhea
• Infantile, weaning, and neonatal diarrhea
• Gastrointestinal disorders
• Antibiotic associated diarrhea
• Pseudomembranous colitis
• Constipation
Mechanism of Action and Pharmacology
Imoxy DL Capsule improves the patient's condition by performing the following functions:
• Inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell wall.
• Inhibiting the production of bacterial cell wall.
• Killing the harmful bacteria and increasing the immune system function
Side-effects
The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Imoxy DL Capsule. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
• Gastrointestinal discomfort
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Gas
• Diarrhea
• Allergic reaction
Precautions & How to Use
Before using Imoxy DL Capsule, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below.
• Candidiasis
• Cardiopulmonary bypass
• Consult your doctor immediately if you develop watery or bloody diarrhea during or after this medication
• Do not take it for more than 2 weeks
• Do periodic assessment of renal, hepatic or hematopoietic functions
• Fatal hypersensitivity
Drug Interactions
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Imoxy DL Capsule may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Imoxy DL Capsulemay interact with the following drugs and products:
• Antibiotic drugs
• Azathioprine
• Basiliximab
• Chloramphenicol
• Cyclosporine
• Macrolides
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Imoxy DL Capsule is a contraindication. In addition, Imoxy DL Capsule should not be used if you have the following conditions:
• Hypersensitivity
• Hypersensitivity to any penicillin
• Hypersensitivity to this drug, to penicillin, or to cephalosporins
